Julie received her degree in Occupational Therapy in 1999 from Quinnipiac University, Hamden Connecticut. She began her career in pediatric occupational therapy in the school system of Greenwich, CT. There she completed three school years before relocating to Knoxville, TN. Julie has worked as an OTR in the private clinic of PCSG. During that time she has become a handwriting specialist with Handwriting Without Tears. Currently, Julie is in a private practice located in the Knoxville Healing Center.
In addition to being an occupational therapist, Julie is also an aerial silks performer and instructor. She performs in a variety of circus arts that she incorporates into her work with children. She emphasizes the importance of finding fun ways to work on skills and overcome challenges. Having experienced sensory and developmental challenges as a child, she is able to understand what kids often face and she uses positive techniques supporting development to overcome their challenges.
